The whole structure of peer-reviewed journals lies on the shoulders of expert reviewers. They are the key to scientifically sound articles and yet, they are doing the job for free on the basis that other fellow scientists will do the same for them. As a result, scientists have a service benefitting the whole scientific community.
In the multiplication of scientific journals and the race for impact factor, the submission rate is high and the demand for knowledgeable reviewers is soaring.
Therefore, we would like to give a special thank you to our reviewers and reward the most performant of them. Every year we will reward three scientists with a price of 500 € each, to be spent on either a conference fee/travel or a scientific illustration.
The winners will be selected based on review quality, timeliness, and the number of reviews performed for PPL over the past two years. We will announce the 2019 “Reviewers of the year” next week.
