Physiologia Plantarum is looking for PhD students or postdocs in plant science who are willing to learn how to communicate science simply and in a relatable context for the general public.
With guidance from the editorial office and associate editors, you will deliver popular science short pieces. We welcome written text as well as digital formats such as videos and infographics. We advise that one piece should be in written format and thus published in the journal.
The program will stretch over a period of one year, and you will be asked to deliver 3 pieces for publication on our platforms. We will focus at least one assignment on a current feature within the journal, like a Special Issue, Focus collection or a Webinar. In return, you will be paid a small honorarium and receive training in communicating science to a broader audience.
Every year, 2-3 interns will be mentored, and peer discussions and feedback among the interns will be encouraged. You will get professional advice on the scientific content from one of our associate editors as well as editing and tips from the editorial office. We encourage you to illustrate your work and will guide you in the process. As a bonus, you will get experience in publishing (submission, proof and close contact with the editorial process) and a glimpse of the work in an editorial office.
Physiologia Plantarum is a reputable plant science Journal founded in 1948 by the Scandinavian Plant Physiology Society. All profits generated by the Journal are redistributed to the plant science community.
We hope to hear from you soon
