Marc Carriquí has done his PhD at the University de les Illes Balears with Jaume Flexas (@JaumeFlexas73) and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tasmania working with Tim Brodribb. His research focusses on the evolution of plant physiology, particularly on the CO2 diffusion and hydraulics. Marc has been reviewing many different articles for PPL, most of them in our category of Uptake, Transport and Assimilation and we are very grateful for his great work and support to the scientific community!
About this duty as a reviewer, Marc says that as an early career researcher, peer-reviewing manuscripts for Physiologia Plantarum is a great opportunity for him. On one hand, he feels that he can contribute to maintain the quality and integrity of research published in Physiologia Plantarum by providing critical but constructive reviews. And at the same time, on the other hand, peer-reviewing for high-stantard journals helps him to improve his research and scientific writing skills.
Marc is also an Associate Faculty member of F1000 and an expert in his field. With the price for one of our three most performant reviewers, Marc will attend the Multiscale Plant Vascular Biology Conference, GRC in Maine, US on the 7-12th of June 2020. Feel free to contact him anytime, maybe even meet up and discuss at the Gordon Research Conference this summer! You can also follow Marc on Twitter here: @marcdesoller.
